To reserve a shelter, pay for a reservation and/or check availability, call us at 252-462-2628 or come by our office at 120 W Washington Street, 3rd Floor Parks & Recreation. Shelters can be reserved 7 days a week from 8:00 am to dusk. Our offices are open Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Programs & Events
Nash County Parks & Recreation offers a wide variety of special events and activities for your enjoyment. We've got Outdoor Movie Nights and fun Summer Camps. We are constantly working on new events, so check back often to see what we've got coming up! 

*Pre-registration is required for all camps. Participants must pre-register with the main office ten (10) business days in advance of the programs start date. For more information or to request a registration form be mailed to you, please contact us at 252-462-2628. 
Outdoor Movie Night
*Sponsored by the Nash County Aging Department*
Miss spending a little quality time with the family? Well, take a couple of hours out of your busy schedule to bring them to Outdoor Movie Night. Bring your own chairs or blankets, snacks, and drinks (no alcohol) to enjoy during the movie. Check out our website for future dates. During inclement weather movie nights will be cancelled.

This summer we will be offering British Soccer Camp, Soccer Camp, Volleyball Camp, Softball Camp, a Fast-Pitch Clinic, Tennis Camp, Football & Cheer Camps at both Northern Nash & Southern Nash, and Baseball Camp. Click the link below for more details!

Summer Volleyball (Ages 10-12 as of September 1, 2016)
Nash County Parks and Recreation is offering volleyball this summer for girls ages 10-12. This program provides each participant the opportunity to have fun and learn the game of volleyball while experiencing teamwork and sportsmanship.                                                  
Registration: May 1-31    Fee: $35 per child ($45 after May 31)
Dates: June - August    Location: Nash Central Middle School
Nash County Volleyball
Tackle Football (Ages 6-12 as of August 1, 2016)
Our 9th season is quickly approaching so get ready! Practice and tryouts for all age groups will begin July 27th. Please remember, this is a contact sport, but all participants will be provided with the proper equipment to ensure safety. Participating with this football program requires a large time commitment. We are proud to have such great coaches and great facilities that your children will surely enjoy! *Travel outside of the county is required.*

Registration: June 1-30     Fee: $40 per child ($50 after June 30)     Dates: July - November
Practices: Mon, Tue, Thu   Games: Saturdays     Locations: Northern Nash and Southern Nash Highs
Cheerleading (Ages 6-12 as of August 1, 2016)
Got spirit? Love to cheer on your favorite team? Well then come and join us as we cheer on our Nash County teams. Participants will learn cheers, chants and possibly stunts to show support to the tackle football teams. Cheering helps to improve confidence, self-esteem and enhances team work skills. Participants will be cheering at all football games, home and away. Away games will be played at various Eastern NC sites. All participants will receive a cheer uniform to wear during the season. As with football, this sport requires a large commitment of your time. *Travel outside of the county is required. *To ensure your child will be issued a uniform, we must have your child registered by June 30th.

Registration: June 1-30     Fee: $40 per child ($50 after June 30)     Dates: July - November
Practices: Tue & Thu   Games: Saturdays     Locations: Northern Nash and Southern Nash Highs
Fall T-Ball (Ages 4-6 as of January 1, 2017)
T-ball gives children the chance to learn the games of baseball and softball at a slower pace with a stationary ball sitting on a tee. All children will play in the field (which means the benches will be empty). Coaches help the children learn the fundamentals of throwing, hitting, fielding, and running the bases. Each child receives a game t-shirt and hat. These teams will not travel to other locations. They will practice and play at their home park.

Registration: July 1 - 31     Fee: $35 per child ($45 after July 31)    Dates: August - October      Practices: Week Nights & some Saturdays    Games: Saturday mornings
Locations: Strickland Park (Bailey), Spaulding T-ball Field (Spring Hope), Ennis Park (Red Oak)

Fall Baseball (Ages 7-14 as of May 1, 2017)
Take me out to the ball game! Come and join our growing baseball league. Our fall league is more instructional based with less focus on games and more learning fundamentals. Each week players from North Carolina Wesleyan College will come out and help teach proper mechanics. Some games may be played outside of Nash County. Fore more information, contact Thomas Gillespie at 252-462-2685. No registrations will be accepted after August 5th.

Nash County Baseball
Fall Softball (Ages 7-14 as of January 1, 2017)
We offer three age groups for fall softball, 7-9, 10-12, and 13-14. The 7-9 and 10-12 age groups will be participating in machine-pitch. The 13-14 age group is player-pitch. Nash County Softball 
Fall Soccer (Ages 3-15 as of August 1, 2016)
Soccer brings in many healthy elements to any child growing up, especially an aerobic workout they enjoy at every practice and game. This is a low scoring sport which helps teach children patience as well as hustle. Each age group will play on a soccer field that accommodates their ability levels. Participants will receive a soccer shirt to wear during their games.  No registrations will be accepted after August 5th.

Registration: July 1-31    Fee: $35 per child ($45 after July 31)    Dates: August - October
Practices: Week Nights   Games: Saturdays (Mondays for 3 year olds)
Locations: Ennis Park (Red Oak) and Bailey/Middlesex Park
