STEM Club News
Congratulations to STEM Club member Ben Clark who received Honors at the Connecticut State Science and Engineering Fair for his project, Bioassay Investigation of the Effects of Chemical and Organic Fertilizers on Daphnia and Tardigrades. Ben spent months outside the classroom researching and conducting experiments to determine if chemical and/or organic fertilizers were toxic to these important water organisms. His project was 1 of 600 judged at the fair held at Quinnipiac University. Students interested in having their own "Unique Science Experience" should contact Mrs. Almeida for details regarding this new elective being offered next year. 

Matheus Dos Santos Crowned Mr. ND 2017


Congratulations to Matheus Dos Santos '18 who was crowned Mr. Notre Dame during the annual "pageant" on Tuesday evening. 14 young men competed in a variety of categories including formal wear, spirit wear, talent and Q&A. Contestants included: Jordan Crawford, Brandon Cegelka, Norrie Davis, Mateus Dos Santos, Ryan Craft, Jacob Rainey, David Suporn, Tyler Stein, Alejandro Sanchez, Kevin Vaca, John Zhang, Michael Giangregorio, Damien Medwinter, Jordan McCarty
Project Voice
Project Voice visited ND on Monday, March 20. Spoken word poets Phil Kaye and Sarah Kay shared their talents and love of poetry with the student body. Following the performance, Phil and Sarah led two classroom workshops for our students. This performance was made possible through a grant and donor.

Student Update
Tickets for Les Miserables on Sale Now!
Tickets for the Notre Dame Drama Club's Spring Musical,  Les Miserables: School Edition are available for purchase at our show's website. Click here to visit. The performances are on  May 5th and 6th at the Sacred Heart University Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts.  All ticket and show information can be found at the website.  There is a small processing fee that will be added to the price of each ticket order.  This processing fee covers the cost of our contract with our partner company, and the rest of the ticket price goes directly to the Notre Dame Drama Club.  Thank you for your support!  Please contact Mr. St.Onge at  [email protected] with any questions.

Campus Ministry Updates

The next Campus Ministry meeting  will be held on  Tuesday, March 28th  in the cafeteria at dismissal.  Sign ups for April events will be available.  

Campus Ministry is looking for donations for our annual elementary school Easter party.  Sought after items include plastic eggs, candy or fillers for an Easter egg hunt, snacks, craft supplies, decorations, or games.  Please bring donations to room 201A by  Friday, March 31 . You can email Miss Medoff at [email protected] with any questions.

Campus Ministry is sponsoring ND's participation in the  Bread of Life Drive  which is a food drive, sponsored by the University of Notre Dame.  Students are asked to bring in non-perishable food donations to fill the boxes in their religion teacher's classrooms.  The drive will be going on from Monday, March 27 to Friday, March 31.  Donations will be collected from ND and surrounding schools and delivered to shelters in Fairfield County.  Food items most requested included coffee, cereal, sugar, pasta, rice, condiments, peanut butter, and jelly.  Thank you for considering to help the poor among us.  If you have any questions, please email Miss Medoff at

The Love Life Club is meeting on Thursday, March 30 at 2:00 pm in room 201A.

The Creative Writing club is meeting on April 5 at 2:00 pm in Room 205.
Link Crew Applications
Applications for 2017-2018 Link Crew Leaders are due by Thursday, April 6 at 2:15 sharp to Mrs. Cipriano or Miss Medoff.  All current sophomore or junior students are invited to apply to be a mentor to next year's freshman class.   Applications are located online, in the library, main office, or rooms 201A and 205.
The Connecticut Writing Project
The Connecticut Writing Project offers Summer Writing Labs for high school students at Fairfield University.  These week-long, high-quality workshops focus on topics such as novel writing, sports journalism, and the college essay. Pasta Dinner
The Drama Club is sponsoring a Pasta Dinner on Wednesday, March 29. Tickets are $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for students. Anyone can see Mr. St.Onge for more information.
SHU Journey - Apply by May 1
Current Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors are invited to apply for a very unique summer experience - the SHU Journey. This is a six day residential experience of faith education, self-discovery, small group discussion, community services, prayer and liturgy, music ministry, keynote speakers and fun activities for high school youth. The 2017 program will take place between 
June 25 and 30  on the Sacred Heart University campus. There are no costs for each of the 24 selected students and each student will also receive a $500 scholarship for participating. To apply for the program or to learn more, click here.
Become a CONNected Catholic This Lent
All are invited to attend a young adult mass at the Basilica of St. John in Stamford on  April 6 at 7:30 pm. Holy Hour and Reconciliation will precede the mass starting at  6:30 pm

There will be a special Lenten Night of Worship for Youth on  Friday, April 7 at 7:00 pm at Immaculate High School in Danbury. Youth from across the Diocese are invited to this special night of worship music and an inspiring message with Catholic speaker and musician Chris Bray. There is no cost to attend. NCYC
Join Bishop Caggiano and more than 23,000 young people from around the country at the National Catholic Youth Conference in Indianpaolis, IN this November. The Diocese of Bridgeport will be traveling together as a group. The cost is $575 per person. This includes conference registration, bus transportation, hotel accommodations, and t-shirts. Financial Aid April 1st Deadline is Approaching
Parents are reminded that families must reapply for financial aid annually.  Parents must have their 2016 taxes completed in order to complete the process.  The cut off date for filing is April 1, 2017. Click here to begin the process.

Opportunities
Explore Engineering at UConn
Exploring Engineering  (E2) is a one-week residential summer program for rising juniors and seniors in high school (must be a current  sophomore  or  junior  in  high school during the 2016/2017 school year). Participants work in small groups with faculty and college students to learn what various engineers do in the workplace, learn and demonstrate engineering concepts, and engage in deeper exploration of one engineering discipline by fabricating a discipline-specific device. Fall & Winter Sports Banquet


The annual fall and winter Athletic Awards Banquet was held at Vazzy's Four Seasons on Wednesday evening. Student-athletes were recognized for their achievements both in the classroom and in their sport. Sport MVPs, as named by their coach, are pictured above.
Boys' Volleyball
All students interested in boys' volleyball are reminded that  practice begins on  Monday, March 27th at  6:30  in gym.
Athletic Association Fundraiser
