Lancer Week In Review
The ND football team got back on the winning track last week with a great win over Stratford, 41-7.  Micah Brantley '18 had 150 yards rushing on 14 carries with two touchdowns and threw for another one as well.  Taevion Jackson '20 rushed for 90 yards on 13 carries and two touchdowns.  Mike Bevino '17  and Jakari Walker '20 each had one touchdown in the win.  Defensively, Clyde Auba '18, Wesley DaSilva '18, Ryan Craft '18, and Ryan Celini '17 all had big games. The team is now 4-5 and has hopes to end the season at 5-5 if they can defeat Pomperaug on  Wednesday, November 23, at 6pm at Pomperaug High School.

Both the boys' and girls' soccer continued their winning ways and advanced through the CIAC state tournament this past week. The girls defeated Cromwell (5-0) in the quarter-finals and Tolland (1-0) in the semi-finals.  The girls have advanced to the Class M State Championship for the second year in a row.  Samantha LaValle '17 had 3 goals in the wins, while Julie Mizak '19, Kascia Zawadzki '19, and Katie Ciufo '18 each scored in win over Cromwell.  Brianna Kydes '17 had a big assist in the lone goal by LaValle in the win over a very good Tolland team.  The state championship game is Saturday, November 19 at Municipal Stadium in Waterbury.  Good Luck to the girls as they go for back-to-back state titles!

The boys' soccer posted wins over Old Lyme (7-2) (OT) and Wamago (4-1) to advance to the program's first state semi-final game.  Felipe Canzian '18 scored 5 goals and had 1 assist, Vinicius Santana '17 had 4 goals and 1 assist, and Carlos Lopez had 2 goals and 1 assist in the two wins. Marcelo DeSouza '19 made 10 saves in the two games. The Lancers took on a very good Old Saybrook team in the state semi-finals and lost a heart-breaker by a score of 3-2.  The team was down 3-0 at the half and made a furious comeback but came up just short in tying the game.  Colin Burke '17 and Marcelino Camata '17 each scored in the second half with both goals assisted by Max Cano '17.   The boys had their best season in school history posting a 14-4-4 record on the season.  They had a tremendous year and should be very proud.
Congratulations to...
