The Local Roadway Snow and Ice Control Training will cover the critical
aspects required to efficiently conduct winter motor grader operations on local roads.

Topic will include:
  • Preparation for the winter season
  • Use of weather forecasting
  • Guidelines for properly plowing,winging, and benching snow
  • Use of chemicals for ice control
  • Overview of snow drifting, new technology, and equipment available for snow and ice control
  • Snowplowing policy
  • Winter survival tips
Instructor
 Mike Hoff, retired from the NDDOT after 30 years as a section supervisor in Dickinson. Since his retirement from the NDDOT, he has moved to Valley City and started a snow removal/ landscaping Bobcat business. Mike's numerous motor grader, plow truck and front end loader championships are evidence of his experience and proficiency in snow and ice control.
