20th Anniversary of NEFLIN

Did You Know? NEFLIN's 20th Anniversary is this fall. Twenty years ago NEFLIN began the work it continues to do today, serving as a vital part of the Florida library community.

Keep an eye out for more information in future newsletters about our plans to celebrate this milestone.

Connect with Colleagues Using GoToMeeting

"If you want to connect with colleagues across the country or even across town; If you want to share documents or websites in real time during your meeting; If you want to record your meeting so you can create minutes later or ask someone else to do so; or if you think editing a document together in real time during your meeting are things you might like to do... look no further.

"NEFLIN offers GoToMeeting at no charge to its members! We use this service on a regular basis to do all of the above. We connect with colleagues for meetings, demonstrations, discussions and to record sessions we later publish for easy access. It's a powerful and easy tool to learn and use!" - Bonnie Smith, University of Florida Smathers Libraries

Nemours Children's Clinic
Sylvia Kyle, Medical Librarian
Nemours Children's Clinic in Jacksonville is part of a pediatric health care system that includes children's hospitals, pediatric primary care and specialty clinics in Florida, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. Sylvia Kyle, Medical Librarian at the Jacksonville clinic, offers information assistance and resource training opportunities to the physicians and other associates at several Jacksonville locations and also provides back-up for the libraries at other Nemours hospitals when needed. The physical library space at the Jacksonville clinic features computer stations, a conference room, quiet areas for reading and studying, a small collection of print books and journals, and an excellent view of the St. Johns River.

The Nemours library collection has grown from a concentration on orthopaedic literature to include new pediatric specialties. In recent years much of the library journal holdings have shifted to electronic format to meet the changing requirements of Nemours associates.
