The Suwannee River Regional Library was awarded the 2012 NEFLIN Golden Apple Award for sending the most staff to NEFLIN Continuing Education events - 306 registrations in FY2011-12. CE Coordinator Patty Morris recently presented the award to Library Director Betty Lawrence and Amber Waters, who coordinates the training among the library's eight branches.
Training Program Sets Record
For the first time, no NEFLIN classes or webinars were canceled during the quarter due to low registrations. Continuing Education Coordinator Patty Morris says registrations for all 42 scheduled CE events were strong and attributes the high demand to pertinent topics and the convenience of online formats. Over 950 registrations were processed during the October through December quarter.
Disc Repair Machine
NEFLIN has added a new piece of hardware to our Equipment Loan Program. The disc repair machine removes damaged layers of a disc to make it playable again. The machine repairs CDs, DVDs, and video game discs. Contact NEFLIN about borrowing this equipment to repair items in your collection.

Interest Groups Coming in 2013
You asked...We listened.
NEFLIN Members have been asking for ways to discuss issues of mutual interest with other NEFLIN members. We are announcing the formation of a series of Interest Groups to meet this need.
We need your input to determine which Interest Group topics people are most interested in. If you haven't done so yet, please take a minute to complete a brief 4 questionsurvey here.
Interest Groups can meet online or in person, and will have a Leader who will coordinate meeting dates and plan topics of discussion. We look forward to reporting on the results and scheduling these opportunities for shared learning.
