Unified Newsletter Changes.  The Unified newsletter has gone "electronic!" Paper copies will still be sent to congregations and individuals who have requested them - or who contact the Synod office to request a paper copy going forward.  We will continue to publish the Unified six times/year; submission deadlines will be announced in each issue. The new e-Unified will be sent to all email subscribers, and published on the Synod's web site, www.neos-elca.org . The weekly E-news will keep you updated with all the news, events and pertinent information in between Unifieds.  If you would like to begin receiving the E-news and our other electronic mailings you may sign-up on our website. Common Commemoration of the Reformation in 2017.  The Lutheran-Catholic Covenant Commission invites Lutherans and Catholics to visit the website: http://lccovenant.weebly.com/covenant-celebration-2016.html for a picture gallery of the Lutheran Catholic Covenant Celebration 2016: Ongoing Impact of the Reformation on Christian Unity.  The Celebration began the local Lutheran Catholic Common Commemoration of the Reformation in 2017 which concludes with an Ecumenical Evening Prayer celebrated by Bishop George V Murry SJ and Bishop Abraham Allende on October 29, 2017, 6:00 p.m., St. Columba Cathedral, Youngstown.

Invitation, Lutheran-Catholic Picnic, August 24, 2017.  On behalf of the Lutheran-Catholic Covenant Commission, Pastor Mark Williams, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Canton, and Co-Convener of the Lutheran Catholic Covenant Commission, invites all Rostered Ministers and Lay Leaders and their spouses to a Lutheran-Catholic Picnic on Thursday, August 24, 2017, 5:00 p.m., hosted and given as a gift by Dr. Y. T. and Marilyn Chiu at their home. This picnic is a great opportunity to meet and fellowship with our Roman Catholic friends who serve as clergy or professional lay ecclesial ministers in the Diocese of Youngstown.  Dress is casual. Martin Luther: The Idea That Changed the World. Several congregations in the Northeastern Ohio Synod are hosting showings of the feature-length movie "Martin Luther: The Idea That Changed the World."  Faith, Fairlawn, 2726 W. Market St. will host a showing on Thursday, August 3 at 2:00 and 7:00 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public. The Mahoning County Lutheran Cluster, along with Youngstown area LCMS congregations will be hosting the movie at Tinseltown, 7401 Market St, Boardman, OH on October 24, at 7:30 p.m.  Celebration, Chardon, will host a showing at Regal Willoughby Commons Stadium 16, 36655 Euclid Ave, Willoughby, OH on October 24, at 6:30 p.m. For more information and/or to purchase tickets: https://www.tugg.com/events/martin-luther-the-idea-that-changed-the-world-d6a1
 
An Evening With Martin Luther. In observance of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, the NEOS-ELCA Medina Area Cluster is hosting "An Evening With Martin Luther" at 7 pm on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the Medina Performing Arts Center, 777 E. Union Street in Medina. Tickets are $10 for adults; all students will be admitted free of charge. Tickets are available online through the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church (Valley City) website: www.zionvc.org.
CTNY Lutheran Catholic Programming Schedule Change.  The Lutheran-Catholic Covenant Commission invites Lutherans and Catholics to tune in to CTNY Spotlight TV and Wineskins radio programs about the Lutheran Catholic Common Commemoration of the Reformation in 2017.  For an updated schedule of the CTNY Lutheran Catholic Programming, see the attachment to this issue of the CommuniqueWineskins on WSOM-AM 600 - Salem originally scheduled for 11:00 a.m. will be broadcasted instead at 10:00 a.m.
