Dear Friends:
Although my experience includes group trips to Senegal, Ghana, the Bahamas, Bermuda, Mexico and numerous conventions, I have never been more excited about this inaugural trip to St. Lucia with some fabulous women just like you!
WHY A TRIP JUST FOR WOMEN?
A few years ago, I became a member of a women's group.
In hotels, four times a year, we met for overnight adult slumber parties. After the food, drinks, and entertainment, our host would conduct a roundtable. Some women shared they were battling health problems, some were still trying to heal from rape or molestation as a child. Single women spoke of being lonely, married women shared stories of their husband's infidelity. Some needed a job. Far too many were just burned out trying to be supermom, superwife, and were thankful to just Let Go and Let God. During these casual, confidential conversations, women began to share their burdens. We laughed, we cried, we sought refuge. We prayed for one another and then we continued on our daily journeys.
Some of us became life-long friends and colleagues. It was a life-changing experience for me. One that helped me soar further in both my personal and professional life. I became a better partner, a better mother, a better woman!
PEACE OF MIND IS PRICELESS!
I believe we ALL know women like that.
I believe we may even be her, at one time or another.
So many women, in particular Black women, suffer alone, and enough of us do not take time for us. We feel guilty, even selfish,
when it's time to do us! We never have enough time.
We scream we never have enough money.
