WARSAW, NY—May 24, 2018— Five Star Bank President and Chief Executive Officer, Martin K. Birmingham, will make three exciting announcements today, Thursday May 24, at a celebration in Warsaw, New York, home of the bank’s corporate headquarters.

More than 150 invited guests including local business and community leaders, bank customers and employees, will be on hand for the event. It will be held at Five Star Bank’s Warsaw branch at 55 N. Main St. from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The program including the ribbon cutting ceremony and check presentation, starts at 6:15 p.m. Tours of the new Call Center will also be available for invited guests.
Birmingham will cut the ribbon to officially open a new enhanced Five Star Bank Call Center.  The new Call Center has been relocated to a larger location in the bank’s offices at 55 N. Main St. in Warsaw from the bank’s headquarters at 220 Liberty St. in Warsaw. Over the past 12 months Five Star has nearly doubled the number of employees in the combined Call Center and Retail Bank Operations Group and plans to add more staff over the next few months.

The former Banking Center, which served both customers and employees, has now been split into two dedicated teams at 55 N. Main St., with the Call Center serving only customers, and the Retail Operations Group serving employees.

The new customer Call Center features new technology that allows staff to monitor call flow by the minute and adjust staff accordingly to ensure that the bank’s rigorous standards are met to serve calls quickly and effectively. The previous Banking Center space at Liberty Street is being used to accommodate the growing need for space for other bank operations.
Birmingham will also announce the start of construction on the new Warsaw Community Room at Five Star's 55 N. Main St. branch. The Warsaw Community Room will be a safe, friendly gathering place in the heart of the Village for local organizations and community groups supporting Warsaw to hold meetings and come together to accomplish great work. The 950-square foot professional space will be available free of charge and will open in early July. Groups can sign up online starting mid-June to use the room, which will be available from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week. This is Five Star’s second Community Room. The first, located at Five Star’s CityGate branch, has been very active with 30 to 35 community groups using the room per month.
Birmingham’s third announcement will be a special gift of $50,000 to United Way of Wyoming County on the occasion of Warsaw’s 175th anniversary and in r ecognition of the United Way's significant value to the community and the great work being done in the region. This year’s donation to the United Way of Wyoming County is the largest in Five Star Bank’s history.

Birmingham said, “Warsaw is our headquarters, and our continued success is intertwined with this community’s continued success. On the occasion of Warsaw’s 175th anniversary, we wanted to do something special to celebrate our longstanding presence here and show our commitment to continued investment in our facilities, our people and the community. Throughout our history, and as we grow today and tomorrow, we are committed to supporting community groups that improve the lives of our Warsaw and Wyoming County residents. We look back proudly on our heritage in this community and make these investments today so that Warsaw can continue to thrive and prosper tomorrow.”
