Lecture: The Blush of Success

Saturday, January 21, 2017
11:00 a.m. - Millyard Museum
Included with museum admission

Manchester's own Charles Revson started with one bottle of nail polish, and he built an empire - the Revlon Company - that fueled a rags-to-riches story to rival that of "The Great Gatsby."

He had help of course.  His brothers, Joseph and Martin, followed him from Manchester to Manhattan, and together - with a little help from a television game show called "The $64,000 Question" - they reshaped the world of cosmetics.

Find out more about the West Side kids from another West Sider - MHA Executive Director John Clayton - when he speaks at the Millyard Museum on January 21st.

2016 Ornament: Elm Street

Doing your Christmas shopping?  Don't forget the MHA's 2016 collectible ornament!  This year's finely-detailed ornament depicts Elm Street as it looked in the early 20th century with cobblestones, trolleys running down the road, and beautiful arched lights.

Each year the Manchester Historic Association produces an original, limited edition brass-plated ornament that celebrates Manchester's history. These unique, detailed ornaments are handcrafted in the United States by the same company that makes the annual White House Holiday Ornament. They make perfect Christmas tree decorations or gifts for the holidays and for many other occasions.  Each comes in a decorative box.

These ornaments are available for $25.00 in the Millyard Museum Shop.  The 2016 ornaments, as well as a limited number of ornaments from past years, can also be purchased online.
Call for Volunteers

The Manchester Historic Association is looking for new volunteers to help with school programs at the Millyard Museum!

School Program Volunteers.  These volunteers lead school programs at our Millyard Museum.  School Program Volunteers will help to share Manchester's fascinating history with school groups that visit the museum.  Volunteers will be provided with all the training they need to lead the multiple programs that we offer to schools.  Volunteers should be comfortable working with kids, enthusiastic about history, and available during daytime hours.
