Patti has had a distinguished legal career and brings significant trial and employment law experience to NFC. Prior to joining a private law firm as Partner in 2007, Patti worked for the New Jersey Attorney General's Office - Division of Criminal Justice, where she served as Chief of Law Enforcement Service, Deputy Director, and eventually Executive Assistant Attorney General. She also worked at the Manhattan District Attorney's Office for several years, where she served as Designated Homicide Assistant and member of the Sex Crimes Unit, Criminal Court Supervisor, and Director of Legal Staff Training for a staff of over 500 prosecutors.
During her tenure with the New Jersey AG's Office, Patti was the lead prosecutor in State v. McGuire, one of New Jersey's most infamous and complex murder trials. Televised nationally over 8 weeks, the trial included testimony from 80 witnesses and resulted in a verdict on behalf of the State.
Patti went on to achieve significant success representing businesses and Fortune 500 companies in the private sector in both employment and non-employment matters. She was recently instrumental in helping a client, a global pharmaceuticals company, recover fees and sanctions against a former employee in excess of $2 million.
"Patti's remarkable background as a prosecutor with the New Jersey Attorney General's Office and the Manhattan District Attorney's Office, combined with her significant experience litigating employment and other matters, make her a perfect fit to expand our Litigation Group," said Suzanne M. Cerra, Co-Founding Partner of NFC.

Patti brings unique experience from her time in the public sector, which she is able to leverage in her investigation and defense of employment matters. "Patti's investigative prowess and innovative methodology in evidence gathering will be a tremendous asset to our clients," said Katherin Nukk-Freeman, Co-Founding Partner of NFC.

Patti attributes her success as both a litigator and investigator to her robust and detailed scrutiny of the facts and legal issues. Patti's mantra is: "The party who reaches a successful outcome is usually the one who has investigated most thoroughly". This is the guiding force in leading her corporate clients through government investigations and defending them against employment and other claims, always done with the goal of limiting business interruption while efficiently moving through what is often an arduous process.

Patti has been honored by the State of New Jersey and the New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety with "Professional Achievement" awards and received the "Innovation in Government" award from the National Council of State Governments. She speaks frequently on trial advocacy, trial preparation, and investigation methodology. Patti has been featured in news specials on ABC, NBC, CBS and the Discovery Channel.

Patti received her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and a B.S. from the State University of New York, at Albany, where she received degrees in Biology and Chemistry. Patti is licensed to practice in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
