Renee Williams is a Staff Attorney focusing on issues related to fair and equal access to housing - including the duty to affirmatively further fair housing (AFFH), the housing rights of persons with limited English proficiency, and housing protections for survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Renee is part of the national HUD training and technical assistance team for jurisdictions and entities that must comply with AFFH by participating in the Assessment to Fair Housing (AFH) planning process. Most recently, she has worked with the Western Center on Law & Poverty and Public Advocates to advance legislation that would create an explicit AFFH obligation under California state law.
