Diaper Drive at NHMR to Benefit
The Diaper Bank, Donate Today!
Donate to the Diaper Drive! NHMR is pleased to be a collection center for diapers and cash/check donations. Why donate?? Safety-net programs such as the Food Stamp Program and WIC (Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children) do not cover the cost of diapers. An adequate supply of diapers can cost over $100 per month.
The vast majority of licensed day care centers do not accept cloth diapers, and require parents and caregivers to provide a steady supply of disposable diapers.
Most people living in poverty do not have affordable access to washing facilities. Furthermore, most coin-operated laundromats do not allow customers to wash cloth diapers for health and sanitary reasons.
Please help by donating if you can!
Monetary donations can also be made online at our fundraising page, click here. Diaper Donations: Sizes 4, 5, & 6 are in greatest demand.

Celebrating 50 Years of the Fair Housing Act
From One Voice to Many: Despite Setbacks and Opposition, How a Growing Chorus Paved the Way to Fair Housing
Looking back on the fifty years since the passage of the Fair Housing Act in 1968, it's easy to recognize the line in the sand that was drawn when President Lyndon B. Johnson's pen made the bill into law. Before that day, housing discrimination was integral to the way real estate business was conducted, and afterwards, the law signaled that such practices were no longer tolerable.
Click here to read the NAR article that explains how the road to fair housing was a process that took decades to navigate. From the mid-nineteenth century on, community activism, the Civil Rights movement, and court cases at all levels of the judiciary chipped away at the long-standing views that made discrimination such a powerful institution.
