Demystifying the Interview and Salary Negotiation Process: 
An interactive, skills-building training

Don't miss out on an interactive skills-building Rising Stars training opportunity, which focuses on interview preparation with Cait Glennen, a Global Career Development Facilitator at a local New Hampshire University.  This session takes place prior to the Annual Meeting and Poster Session.

Session Description
Equip yourself with the tools to self-advocate in the job market. In this session, participants will demystify the interview and salary negotiation process by learning how to articulate the value of their unique perspective and experiences. The interactive workshop will be immediately applicable for networking during the poster presentation, and leave members feeling more confident about their next interview opportunity.
About The Trainer
Cait Glennen is a certified Global Career Development Facilitator and Career Programs Coordinator at a local New Hampshire University. She has experience helping graduate and undergraduate students navigate the transition from the classroom to the workforce in a variety of ways by facilitating workshops, guest lecturing, and providing one on one counseling. A few of her recent projects include collaborating to develop the Women in STEM program as well as piloting and building the first online micro-internship for healthcare programs at her university.  

Student Poster Session and Rising Star Student Research Awards
4:00p - 5:30p
A great opportunity for students to network with other students, public health professionals and potential employers.  An even better opportunity to practice some of the skills learned in the pre-session training!  Students may choose to use this time for networking, or to participate in the poster session.

Do you have a research project / practicum in progress or nearing completion? 
I s it producing interesting findings (outcome or process) that you would like to share with fellow students, advisors, potential employers, and public health professionals from across NH?  Join students from Dartmouth College, Franklin Pierce University, Plymouth State, UNH, Rivier University, Keene State College, and more as they present their work to potential employers!

Leaders in the public health field will be judging posters and selecting 
one undergraduate  and  one graduate  student  winner for the 2018 NHPHA Rising Star Research Award.  A great "add" to your resume!  

Winners will be announced during the Annual Meeting and given free registration to the New England Regional Public Health Conference in Kennebunkport, ME on June 14-15, 2018. 
Instructions to participate in the Poster Session 
  1. Submit your poster abstract by completing this online form no later than April 4th. All posters will be accepted. Students will received a confirmation email.
     
  2. Student presenters and their advisor/mentor are given a free registration to the Annual Meeting.  Poster presenters and their advisor/mentors must register for the event, which you can do so here
     
  3. Posters should be no shorter than 24", and no wider than 60". Click for templates. NHPHA will provide easels, but students are responsible for printing their posters on foam core (or bringing a cork board/hard mount surface).  Please contact NHPHA if you need help with printing.
