We're rebranding!
NIDOS is becoming  Scotland's International Development Alliance
As part of our new strategic plan for 2017-2020, NIDOS will become Scotland's International Development AllianceNIDOS members agreed unanimously on the name change at our general meeting on 23 March.  We aim to start using the new name along with a newly redesigned website and branding in May, with a formal launch at our Annual Conference & AGM on 13 September 2017. 

Scottish Government event recap
On 23 March the Scottish Government held an information day on its international development strategy and its new Zambia and Rwanda funding rounds. The presentation from the day is now available.  If you have any queries about the funding round you may submit questions by email, giving a contact email address and telephone number. Questions submitted between 9/3/17 and 10/4/17 will be collated and published on the Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland website Read more.

CPG on International Development
Edinburgh, Wednesday 19 April
This meeting of the Cross Party Group on International Development will feature presentations and speakers on the topics of Zambia and climate change. Register by 13 April. 
Leave No One Behind Working Group
NIDOS is setting up a Leave No One Behind Working Group, which will be launched at our AGM on 13 September. Any organisations working with marginalised groups should email Jane to express their interest in joining the group.

Scottish Government Small Grants 2017-18

The Scottish Government has announced that ten projects will be funded under the fourth round of the International Development Small Grants Programme. The list of funded organisations includes nine NIDOS members.  Read more.
DFID announces funding for small charities
International Development Secretary Priti Patel has announced new DFID funding for small organisations. The Small Charities Challenge Fund will be open to UK-registered organisations with incomes under £250,000.  Read more.
UK Aid Connect update
The Department for International Development (DFID) has issued a report on the feedback from the discussion and dialogue on UK Aid Connect. Thematic areas for the fund will be published as soon as they are announced.  Read more.
Future UK-EU development cooperation 
The International Development Select Committee is conducting an inquiry into the future of UK-EU development cooperation after Brexit. NIDOS is inviting interest from any members in collaborating on submitting written evidence - email Jane.
Agenda 2030: Delivering the Global Goals
The UK Government has published a document entitled Agenda 2030, which provides an overview and examples of how the UK Government is contributing to
the delivery of each of the Sustainable Development Goals.  Read more.
Scotland Lights Up Malawi celebration event
On 21 February, the 2020 Climate Group celebrated the successful completion of Phase One of the Scotland Lights Up Malawi project, which aimed to engage Scottish society in the issue of climate justice and access to clean energy.  Read more.
Young Citizen Advocates events
From June to October IDEAS will be engaging with young people in upper secondary to hear their views on what's important to them within their schools, local community and the wider world, informed by the SDGs.  Read more.
Renewable Energies e-learning programme
Gaia Education   is launching the third edition of the Renewable Energies for Sustainable Development e-learning programme. In 5 hours per week, the 8-week course explores how to advance the SDGs energy agenda.  Read more.

New book: The Public Affairs Guide to Scotland
The Public Affairs Guide to Scotland strips away the mysteries and misconceptions of engaging with the Scottish Government, Opposition parties, MSPs and the civil service and explains how to deliver cost effective public affairs activities that can achieve tangible outcomes.  Read more.
Elrha's new publications portal
Elrha has launched a free and easy to use tool that holds every output from the work it funds through the Humanitarian Innovation Fund (HIF) and Research for Health in Humanitarian Crises (R2HC), as well as anything produced or commissioned by Elrha. You'll find a variety of publications from gap analyses and peer reviewed journals, to case studies and evaluations, from across the diverse portfolio of work we fund in the humanitarian community.
