Happy Spring to you!  
Our Board has been busy developing some great events for this spring as well as working on a few more things that our members can enjoy.  I would like to thank Candace Nordquist, CKD for exceptional work on getting our new website launched.  If you have not seen it yet, take a look at www.nkbapugetsound.org.  We are pretty proud of it and hope you are too!  I also would like to thank Dare Edmiston for her service in the last few months.  We wish her well on her new adventures in Coeur d'Alene!  We are happy to announce our new VP of Programs, Caroline Jordan of Oregon Tile & Marble.  She has jumped into her new position with enthusiasm!  Our spring lineup for events will start out at Oregon Tile & Marble later this month featuring Artistic Tile.  We hope to see you there!

NOTE for PAST ENTRANTS: Be sure to review and note the changes in category requirements and documentation.

 

The 7 categories you can enter include:

Open Plan Kitchen, Large Kitchen, Small to Medium Kitchen, Large Bath, Small to Medium Bath, Powder Bath and Other Spaces.  Other spaces can include anything that has cabinets, think outdoor kitchen, laundry, closet, games room, or a specialty space that you designed for your client.

AKBD Study Group:

We are underway with our local NKBA AKBD Study group preparing designers for their 1st certification! Thank you for the huge response, we have filled this class.

However, there is another exciting option for those still interested. For the 1st time NKBA is offering a virtual AKBD study group that you can take part in. Click here for more details:

The AKBD academic exam consists of 200 multiple-choice questions that tests both kitchen and bathroom competencies. The examination itself is divided into four (4) major content categories: 40% of the exam questions are related to Planning and Design, 22% related to Construction/Mechanical Systems, 18% to Business Management and 20% to Products/Materials. Questions are developed by the Certification Test Board. Each question is referenced to the NKBA Professional Resource Library, the primary resource for the material on the AKBD exam.
