Dear Fellow NKBA Puget Sound Members,
I hope you have had a prosperous and fun summer! The fall is approaching and time to ramp back up into our industry events! We have some exciting events on the near horizon and hope you find the time to join us for these amazing opportunities. Do you check out our website? All events upcoming are marked on our website with dates and locations. Mark your calendars for our Chapter Event - September 24th at Pental Granite & Marble. As the year moves into fall, our board is busy working on developing the board for next year. We have filled a few positions, but still have some opportunities to join our board and committees. If you have interest in growing your professional profile, consider volunteer opportunities with your local chapter of NKBA! Contact myself or Roshele Allison to learn more about the opportunities.
Warm Regards,
Kayron Brewer, CKD CBD

Are you interested in getting more involved with our local NKBA Board? Well, you are in luck as we have a few open board positions:
VP of Membership
- This is a great position for someone who has never been on our board before or is new to our chapter. You get to meet so many people in the our industry and have fun at the same time.
Treasurer
- If you are great with numbers than this is just for you. We have made things easy for this position as we use Quick Books to handle all of our finances.
VP of Government Relations
- This position keeps track of our right to design in our local government. You keep track of whether or not this right is being threatened.
Other positions that we also need filled are:
Sponsorship Chair
- This person interacts with our Sponsors and our Board to see what Sponsors want to participate and to make sure their needs are met.
Home Show Chair
- We need someone to re-ignite this. We have the tools and materials for a booth in a Home Show but we need someone to work out where, when and scheduling.
Great Kitchen and Bath Tour
- We need someone to take the lead on this. Things have changed in our industry and with our clientele, we need someone with their finger on the pulse of Seattle to get this going again.
If you are interested in any of the above positions or would like information about helping on a committee, please contact our chapter President Kayron Brewer, CKD, CBD ([email protected]) or our Chapter Rep Roshele Allison, CMKBD ([email protected])
Hope to see you at the next event!
It's only open to trade professionals like you. Just review the kitchens of the 53 regional winners, and choose the most outstanding. It's a great way to honor your peers, and get ideas for your own
future projects. Login required.

2016 KBIS Registration open!
The National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA)
Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS)
, is gearing up for another record-breaking event. Slated for January 19-21, 2016, KBIS 2016 will be held in the North and South Halls of the Las Vegas Convention Center. Over 400 manufacturers and brands have committed to exhibit, covering all of the key industry verticals - cabinetry, appliances, decorative plumbing and hardware, lighting and surfacing materials - 40 of which are new exhibitors at the show.
KBIS co-located with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) International Builders Show (IBS) in 2014, creating North America's largest residential construction and design trade show - called Design and Construction Week®. The co-located events have enjoyed healthy growth, with over 132,000 professionals attending in 2015.
KBIS 2016 is poised to deliver a comprehensive schedule of experiential and engaging programming, along with new and returning exhibiting brands, and a full complement of learning and professional development programs offered by NKBA.
"Our KBIS show is the indisputable epicenter of the kitchen and bath industry," said Bill Darcy, NKBA CEO. "We are gratified by the enthusiasm and investment of our exhibitors and attendees, and look forward to giving them the best experience yet in 2016."
Learning and Professional Development Opportunities
Approximately 100 conference sessions, providing opportunities to earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs), have been approved through the NKBA's Voices from the Industry (VFTI) program. Additionally, learning programs will be offered onsite through NKBA University and from NKBA Center Stage, and the association will again be producing its popular 30 Under 30 panel. New research, including the 2016 Kitchen & Bath Design Trends report will be released during the show
Reminder to self report your CEU's:
If you are a hold an NKBA certification you can earn CEU's, here is how to self report them. We no longer submit them for you, so its important you do so to maintain your certification status.
The NKBA requires that all certified members earn 1.0 CEU (or 10 hours of education) every two years. Each two year cycle runs on a calendar year from January 1 to December 31. Certified members who do not meet the CEU requirements at the end of the cycle, will lose their NKBA Certification
To submit your CEU, complete an online CEU Reporting Form under Learn/ For Professionals/ CEU's. Once completed, click to send the information directly to the NKBA Certification Department for processing. Faxed or mailed CEU reporting forms will not be accepted. You are not required to submit an online CEU Reporting Form for NKBA on-line or in-person NKBA education course.
Certified members' NKBA CEU records will be automatically updated when the class is closed by the NKBA. You are responsible for submitting your own CEU for attending a chapter meeting. We recommend that you maintain your own attendance records, in the event of a discrepancy.
