Ministry Update - April 2016

Dear Friends,

The San Juan Ministry Center has served as a key place of ministry for NLAI a number of decades. Not only did is serve as the home of NLAI Founders Drs. Fred and Clara Jarvis and the headquarters for NLAI, but it was also the home to a vibrant printing press ministry for gospel tracts and Christian literature.

Mission teams and missionaries traveling and to and through Mexico have stayed at NLAI San Juan and found it to be a place of rest and relaxation before continuing their journey.

NLAI is excited to welcome new Directors for the San Juan Ministry Center, Dr. Wayne and Dianne Kelly. The Kellys currently make their home in Gadsden, Alabama. Wayne is transitioning out of his medical practice, and Dianne has been a teacher for years.

We are so pleased and thankful to have the Kellys joining with us to carry forth God's vision for NLAI San Juan. Would you take minute to read the article below as they share their hearts? Please pray about joining their support team. If you are interested in organizing a work team to do much needed volunteer work on the compound, please contact them at [email protected] or [email protected]  or our home office at [email protected], and we will get you connected with them.

God bless you.

Refreshed vision for San Juan Ministry Center

By Wayne & Dianne Kelly

Our vision NLAI's San Juan Ministry Center seems to expand daily, and as we raise support toward stepping into a leadership role there, we want to share some plans and dreams with you.
  • Knowing the hearts of NLAI founders Drs. Fred and Clara Jarvis, we would like to develop a memorial library in their honor on the grounds. We envision a prayer garden and a small vegetable and fruit garden in the rear of the property.
  • Add a youth-oriented area to help develop teamwork and leadership
  • Provide a mini convention/media area where groups, churches or pastors can come for weekend or extended retreats
  • Develop the large building into more of an all purpose facility that would allow for Christian movie nights for smaller churches, youth groups or family gatherings, sewing classes and concerts
  • Remodel the barn to be able to store food and other supplies to assist poor families and help with the food distribution and back-to-school ministry in Mexico
  • Update the buildings as needed, defining parking, improving lighting, and naming each building
Would you consider partnering financially and in prayer so that, by God's grace, we can see this vision become a reality?

Santa Rosa Water System Update

By Mike McComb

Terri and I praise God for the new water system that is almost finished for the Ixil village of Santa Rosa! The people who live there are ex-communist guerrilla fighters who through much prayer and outreach are now following Jesus (34 new Christians, and one more accepted Christ today)! Communities are being transformed and lives are being changed, for the glory of God! A special thanks to the Santa Rosa Charity group out of York, PA, who made this community development project a reality.
Prayer & Praise Report
  • Praise God for the provision of funding for the new water system in Santa Rosa, Guatemala!
  • Praise God for Wayne and Dianne Kelly. Pray for them as they raise their support and prepare to move to San Juan, Texas, to oversee the ministry center there.
  • Praise God for Shawn and Carla Estes who have overseen the San Juan Ministry Center since the Fall of 2014. We are so grateful for the Estes's servant hearts. Pray for them and their ministry, Fortify Ministries.
  • Pray for Tara Goodloe as she raises support to come work at NLCH as a nurse.
  • Pray for NLAI workers to be committed in their walk with Christ, persevering in fulfilling God's call on their lives, bold in their witness, and obedient to God's word.
