NMCA WEST 2014 Season Opener Moves to Fontana

Presented by Lucas Oil, the first event of the Flowmaster NMCA WEST Street Car Nationals to be held at renovated Auto Club Dragway on March 28-30

Santa Ana, CA (January 17, 2014) - The Flowmaster NMCA WEST Street Car Nationals series announced today that the season opener on March 28-30, 2014 will be moving to the Auto Club Dragway in Fontana, CA.  With reassurances from Auto Club Dragway that the construction of the facility's sound wall will be completed by mid-February, NMCA WEST recognizes that having its season opener in the Los Angeles/San Bernardino area offers greater amenities to our racers and sponsors, as well as greater access to fans who want to see the World's Fastest Street Cars.

"NMCA WEST is very pleased to announce that we will open our season at Auto Club Dragway in Fontana," said Rollie Miller, National Event Director for NMCA WEST. "The track's location is far closer to our core heads-up and sportsman racers as well as our sponsor and fan base.  While the decision to move the event was not easy because of our history and great relationship with Famoso Raceway, it was the right decision for the series and the racers in Southern California." 

Just off the 10 freeway in Fontana, the Auto Club Dragway offers a premier quarter-mile racing surface, all-paved pits, and separate areas for autocross and a car show.  With easy access to millions of street-legal drag racing fans, Auto Club Dragway provides NMCA WEST with a venue that will be the cornerstone of the series schedule for 2014 and beyond.
