With a positive response from the Food and Drug Administration, Microbiome Therapeutics has announced that it will pursue a significantly shortened regulatory pathway for the company's lead diabetes treatment product, NM505. This combination treatment has shown positive results in increasing tolerability to and reducing side effects from metformin, the first-line treatment for Type 2 diabetes that often causes major, dose-limiting gastrointestinal side effects.
