Groundswell to Groundbreaking

  • Thanks to EVERYONE who gave this past week - we raised over $56,000! Our groundbreaking goal of $2.1 million is getting closer - just $147,000 to go. Help NOVA by making your pledge or donation by March 31st.

  • Participation Matters! Outside funding sources such as foundations, community philanthropists, and corporations care about the level of participation from our families. Please give what you can to the campaign so we can show NOVAStrong support. Our goal is to have every family give what it can. A special thanks to the donors who are choosing to increase their pledges or give again - like Coach Diane who just sent in another $1,000!
Blast from
the Past

NOVA's first competition pool was built in 1996. 100% of the 150 swimmers' families contributed to the capital campaign. The second pool was added in 2005. Both of these building projects were led by dedicated NOVA parents who focused on "paying it forward" for future NOVA swimmers. Please enjoy reading about the process of each pool's construction from the perspective of those involved.

Also, just for fun, the photo above is one we recently ran across from the construction of the second pool (the competition pool is pictured; the low part of the building on the left is the locker rooms).
It's a Match!

Many businesses make matching gifts for employee charitable contributions. NOVA families are using matching gifts to multiply their contributions to the capital campaign.

NOVA has received matches from many companies in the past, including AIG, Altria, Bank of America, CarMax, Dominion Energy, Genentech, General Electric, Genworth, Markel, McKesson, Medtronic, Pfizer, Prudential, and Virginia Credit Union.

You can check with your employer to see if a matching gift program exists and if your capital campaign gift qualifies. Or, use this handy tool to get information on many company policies. It's an easy way to maximize your impact!
How to Give

It's easy to support the project! You can make a one-time gift or pledge over three years. Pay by check or credit card, or make a stock transfer. Various benefits are available for making a gift.

Visit the website to download a pledge card, and return it to the Business Office by March 31st. Or, fill out the pledge card onlin e, and we'll follow up with you. Thank you!
