Greetings!
I have just received the endorsement of the National Rifle Association (NRA) in the House District 19 primary. The following is the endorsement letter from the NRA:
"On behalf of the National Rifle Association members in the state House District 19, I am pleased to announce your NRA-PVF A+ rating and endorsement for the 2012 Colorado Primary Election. This rating is based on your record of support on Second Amendment issues while serving in the Colorado General Assembly.
During your time in the Colorado House of Representatives you have maintained a steadfast pro-gun voting record, and have consistently voted for NRA-backed legislation. Not only have you been a staunch supporter of the right to keep and bear arms, you have been a leader as well. Most recently, you demonstrated your leadership on Second Amendment issues by introducing and sponsoring HB 1064. Our members will interpret your A+ rating and endorsement by the NRA-PVF as being a solid pro-gun/pro-hunting candidate who supports the Right to Keep and Bear Arms." This year I ran HB 12-1064, putting the brakes on the Government and law enforcement to take law-abiding gun owner's guns away in a time of emergency. We saw that happen in Louisiana during Hurricane Katrina with disastrous effects. The bill passed the House but was killed by Democrats in the Senate.
Thanks to the NRA for the endorsement and thanks to all of our local gun groups such as the Pikes Peak Firearms Coalition and Rocky Mountain Gun Owners who testified on HB 1064, and who work to keep our Second Amendment rights alive. |
