NSNA Reaffirms Position on Healthcare
Accessible • Evidence-Based • Affordable • High Quality

Brooklyn, NY – February 14, 2017. In the light of the current political climate and debate regarding health care across the nation, the National Student Nurses’ Association (NSNA) reaffirms its position that all individuals deserve high quality, evidence-based, affordable and accessible health care. Across the United States, nursing students are engaged in efforts to ensure that previously uninsured individuals and families will maintain access to high quality, affordable health care and insurance coverage.

Moving forward, NSNA believes it is imperative that any changes to current health plan coverage ensures that all in need have access to affordable primary and preventive healthcare services. The NSNA Board of Directors will have an opportunity to address this and other issues with its constituents in the House of Delegates at the 65th Annual NSNA Convention being held in Dallas, Texas, April 5-9, 2017.

NSNA strongly encourages nursing students to be knowledgeable and to advocate for solutions that have lasting and positive impact on the health of patients and communities.

NSNA is a membership organization representing over 60,000 students in Associate Degree, Diploma, Baccalaureate, and generic Masters programs preparing students for Registered Nurse licensure, as well as RNs in BSN completion programs. Visit www.nsna.org for more information.
