 NEW TESTAMENT CHURCH OF GOD APPOINTS

BISHOP DEREK WEBLEY AS NEW NATIONAL TREASURER/SECRETARY

 

Bishop Derek Webley, who presides over New Testament Church of God (NTCG) congregations in the Birmingham and Solihull area has been appointed the new National Treasurer/Secretary of the denomination. He will officially start working in the role on September 1, 2014.

 
The National Treasurer/Secretary will be responsible for the following: 
 
* Ensuring that the NTCG complies with all necessary legislation and regulations and that it carries out its duties in compliance with charity law and Company Law, and adheres to its governing documents and policies. 
 
* Providing support and advice to the incoming National Overseer Bishop Donald Bolt, who will start work officially on September 1, 2014  
 
* Work in partnership with the Administrative Bishops and Heads of Departments to ensure the day to day management of the organisation and protect and manage the Charity's assets. 
 
Commenting on his new appointment Bishop Webley stated, "I am deeply honoured to be asked by my Church to serve in this position at this point in my ministerial journey. I am particularly looking forward to working with the Administrative Bishop Elect, Bishop Donald Bolt, with whom I have had a strong working relationship for many years. I pledge to give 100% commitment to this appointment as in all my previous capacities, as together we will work for the advancement of the Kingdom".

Bishop Webley is one of the most well known NTCG ministers in the West Midlands. He currently serves as Senior Pastor at NTCG Lozells, one of the largest congregations within the denomination and has served the church in a wide range of capacities including serving as the National Director of Evangelism and presiding over the Youth & Christian Education Department.

He has always played an active role within his local community and in 2006 he was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Central England, Birmingham for his contribution to community relations. In 2007 he received an MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List and in 2009 he was made a Deputy Lieutenant (DL) for the County of West Midlands.  
 
Bishop Webley served for 5 years as the Chair of West Midlands Police Authority.

A sought after speaker, Bishop Webley has fulfilled engagements throughout the UK, Europe, the Caribbean, Africa and the US.

He is a family man, married, a father and grandfather.
