President's Message:

Happy New Year NTMCA Members!
2017 is here, we can re-focus our energy and accomplish new goals. If you're like me, a new year brings a renewed spirit and plenty of zest. Ha!

     DECEMBER HOLIDAY EVENT

Big thanks to the Holiday Committee for their hard work making our annual event a wonderful celebration. It's always a pleasure to take time for a little fun and fellowship! We enjoyed great food from the always delicious selections of TCP Catering and lively holiday bingo with prizes (who doesn't like prizes?!) at the beautiful North Richland HillsCentre.

Thanks, too, to the Alyce Deering Scholarship Committee for collecting a wonderful assortment of silent auction items and conducting a 50-50 raffle. We raised $830 in support of our education fund!

Attendees demonstrated their generosity by donating to this year's charity, the Crime Victims Unit of Haltom City, North Richland Hills, Richland Hills, and Watauga, supporting families in need, raising $655!

We were so happy to have a few of our retirees with us again this year. We really appreciate these ladies keeping in touch and continuing to support our organization. To those who would have liked to attend but couldn't due to previous commitments, we hope to see you next year!

JANUARY 12th MEETING & LUNCHEON

Don't forget to register for our first meeting of 2017 to be held on January 12th at the Argyle Town Hall at 308 East Denton Street, Argyle, TX 76226. Registration will close on January 6th. Our guest speaker is new to the Chapter. Diane Consolino is a "Success Coach" and will be speaking to us on "Results with Velocity: Setting Goals That Get Results!" The program will provide tools for setting goals and the power to be effective.

SAVE THE DATE - 2017 PROFESSIONAL SEMINAR

The Professional Seminar Committee is fast at work planning our spring educational opportunity. The seminar will be held on Wednesday, April 12th at the Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB), Grand Hall, at 636 South Main Street. Grapevine, TX 76051. MAP This year's seminar will be an Athenian Dialogue facilitated by Chief G.M. Cox, Ph.D. The book title will be announced as soon as possible. This is a great way to add to your re-certification points! Remember to register as soon as you receive the invitation. Athenian Dialogue attendance is limited to allow for full participation.

CONGRATULATIONS

Please join me in congratulating Diane Cockrell (Decatur) on earning the prestigious Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC). This is a very special accomplishment that requires years of hard work and dedication. Diane has been a leader in and friend to our organization for many years and we are very proud of her for a job well done!
MEMBERSHIP DRIVE
Thank you to the Membership Committee for doing a great job reaching out to our members! Our chapter currently has eighty-four members. We're still contacting previous members not yet renewed in hopes of reaching our membership goal. Remember, your dues contribute to our meetings, educational speakers, scholarships, and other events throughout the year.  Please contact Membership Chair Laurie Garber  if you have any questions. Also, if you know anyone that has moved into our area that will benefit from our training programs and networking, please urge them to join our Chapter. Encouraging others to learn about our organization strengthens our effectiveness in our communities. Membership Applications can be found on the website. Checks must be made out to 'NTMCA' and mailed to Amy Shelley as indicated.

Thank you all for your continued support of our organization. Best wishes for your personal and professional success throughout 2017!

Respectfully Yours,   Carol Borges, President

Meeting Reservations

Members we need your help!

In order to be able to provide food for all that attend our monthly meetings, we need to know who will be attending, so please let us know your intentions by the RSVP date.  Deadlines are included in the invitation, and on the meeting webpage.

The best way to take care of this is to plan to attend all of the meetings and RSVP when you receive the invite!

Thank you for your cooperation!
