REGISTER FOR NJJN FORUM 2017

Join us in Washington, D.C., July 17-19 for NJJN's 2017 Forum. Our annual event brings advocates together for youth justice reform training, networking, strategy-sharing -- and fun!

Forum will gather our juvenile justice reform community for workshops, plenaries and sessions focused on enabling all of us to achieve real change in our youth justice systems. We will focus intently on racial justice and placing those directly impacted by the system at the forefront of the movement.

Here's what's inside our roundup this month:

  • Legislative advances by NJJN member Connecticut Juvenile Justice Alliance on new bill that puts new limits on solitary confinement and NJJN member Delaware Center for Justice helping to pass legislation expanding offenses eligible for expunction.
  • The Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Division determined that a recent incident at the privately run Rite of Passage youth facility constituted child maltreatment.
  • New commentary on why youth should not be held in large institutions, the negative impact of suspensions and raise the age efforts.
  • Events and trainings focused on furthering juvenile and criminal justice.
