New York Metro CCIM Chapter is pleased to announce that Ten-X has elected to become a 2017 Foundation Sponsor. This key association helps fulfill our organizational goal of partnering with leading real estate-related businesses that can support the career advancement of our members.
Ten-X, formerly, Auction.com, is the nation's leading online real estate transaction marketplace.
With more than 1,000 employees the company's headquarters are in Irvine, CA and locally serviced in Midtown Manhattan. Ten-X provides a seamless transaction process with no fees or commissions shared by Brokers or paid by Owners. Ten-X spends more than $30M per year on extensive targeted marketing and lead development services created through state of the art data mining developed in conjunction with Google Capital, a Ten-X partner who invested $50M in the company.
Ten-X has sold $15B of commercial real estate since 2009 and boasts 485,000 new accounts created in 2015. The company's goal is to do the upfront legwork to bring clarity and strict timelines to the deal process, holding all deal parties accountable and eliminating the threat of a re-trade. They are allowing brokers to get back to what they do best - sourcing and closing deals.

The Epic Tale of Rebuilding Ground Zero
On Tuesday, November 15, members of the
Columbia Business School Alumni Club/NY and the New York Metro CCIM Chapter came together for a lively and compelling presentation by Columbia Business School Professor Emerita, Lynne Sagalyn, on the challenges associated with the reconstruction of Ground Zero.
As Dr. Sagalyn pointed out, the rebuilding of Ground Zero was fraught with strategic consequence, for the City of New York and for the nation. Her discussion gave insight into the 10+ years of rebuilding the 16 acre site, with particular emphasis on the people and personalities who wanted to put their mark on this monumental project. For those wanting to learn more, Professor Sagalyn's book on the subject may be purchased at
poweratgroundzero.com.
Many thanks to Craig Evans, CCIM for arranging Chapter participation in this informative and entertaining event.
