When City Council Speaker Christine Quinn and Mayor Bloomberg announced that the budget passed today, it marked a demonstration of City Council support for the hard-work of the communities like ours that are starting food co-ops.  

From the budget -

Food Cooperative Expansion Initiative - This city council initiative will fund staff to conduct feasibility and business assessments and provide technical assistance to groups looking to open food cooperatives.
