ACGME CME Quality Improvement Reporting Pilot for Program Directors
The ACGME is initiating a new CME Quality Improvement (QI) Reporting Pilot that will offer
CME opportunities for QI projects in which program directors are already engaged with their residents, as well as for any future QI projects within their programs.
The focus will be on program directors as the learners, and if the pilot is successful, the plan is to extend the opportunity in the future to program faculty members.
The pilot seeks to emphasize patient safety in academic medical centers and recognize the hard work of program directors across all specialties. E-mail questions to

A new resource, Criteria for Review and Approval of Interim Program Directors, has been published. It provides information about situations when an interim program director is required if a qualified permanent program director cannot be immediately appointed or if the current program director requires a leave of absence.

Nyack Hospital Launches
Pre-Hospital Communication
Nyack Hospital recently became the first hospital in New York State to use a new HIPPA-compliant pre-hospital communication technology called Twiage. The technology enables first responders to send live data from the scene of an emergency to Nyack Hospital's Emergency Department.
