Statewide Conference to Bring Hundreds of County Leaders
to Central New York
NYSAC Fall Seminar - September 12-14 - The Think Tank for New York's Counties
Fracking. Medicaid reform. Green energy. Strategic economic development. Working together. Public safety. Public health.
In an often-divisive political climate, it's unusual to see leaders from all parties come together to discuss what's best for their communities. Next week, that is exactly what will happen at the New York State Association of Counties' Fall Seminar in Onondaga County.
From September 12 through 14, hundreds of leaders from counties across New York State will convene to set a course for the upcoming legislative session and learn about how counties can help steer New York toward a brighter future for our families and businesses. [See below for specific media coverage opportunities.]
"The Seminar provides county leaders with an opportunity to come together to explore solutions, discuss innovative programs, and act on decisions that will positively impact the future of their communities," said NYSAC President Mary Pat Hancock, Genesee County Legislator.
The New York State Association of Counties (NYSAC) is a statewide municipal association representing all 57 New York counties and the City of New York.
County Executives from all corners of the state will meet on Wednesday afternoon. There will be an opportunity for individual interviews following the meeting.
New York's primary election takes place on the second day of the conference. The important issues of this election season are at the forefront of NYSAC conference sessions and discussion topics:
- Governing in lean financial times,
- Medicaid,
- Pre-School Special Education/Early Intervention,
- Energy and the Environment,
- Procurement,
- Public Safety, and
- Local Government Operations and Budgeting
Individual interviews with Seminar attendees can be arranged. Contact Mark LaVigne at 518-429-0189.
