sharedsolarnyc.com
The NYC Solar Partnership (Sustainable CUNY, the Mayor's Office of Sustainability, NYC EDC) is looking for developers interested in participating in community shared solar campaigns in NYC. With mayoral support the partnership has created the
Shared Solar NYC Portal- a platform to connect community shared solar developers to interested owners of potential host sites, including rooftops and open land.  Developer Application

Additionally, Sustainable CUNY is actively seeking large commercial spaces to host a shared solar array. If you or someone you know owns over 10,000 square feet of roof, parking lot or open space in NYC, please visit the Shared Solar NYC Portal to find out more and sign up.
MODEL SOLAR ZONING WEBINAR
Sustainable CUNY and the NY-Sun PV Trainers Network (PVTN) will host a webinar on Thursday October 6 for jurisdictions interested in using the NY State Model Solar Energy Law
and toolkit to update their zoning codes. This guidance toolkit was developed with support by the U.S. Department of Energy SunShot Initiative and is designed to assist New York communities in adopting zoning provisions that promote solar energy systems while protecting community character and the environment.
JUST THE FACTS
Understanding Real Property Tax Law § 487
This two page fact sheet was developed by the NY-Sun PV Training Network for municipalities and outlines important points for local governments that are considering opting out of RPTL § 487. The Real Property Tax Law § 487 fact sheet covers topics such as the local economic impact of solar, opting out for large-scale only, capturing revenue from installations, opting back in and more.
LARGE PV INTERCONNECTION WORKSHOP
Utility speakers have been announced for the free NYS Interconnection Workshop & Roundtable supported by the U.S. Department of Energy SunShot Initiative. The event will be held at Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library in Hyde Park, NY on September 29th from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm.  Solar installers, developers, contractors and electricians who specialize in large solar energy systems and/or energy storage are encouraged to attend this workshop, which will focus on utility interconnection procedures in New York State.
VEHICLE TO GRID TO DEMO MANY VALUES
Sustainable CUNY and Queens College have partnered with NRG EVgo on NYC's first vehicle-to-grid (V2G) demonstration project at Queens College. The project is supported by NYSERDA and is studying a number of different use cases for the vehicles, including transportation on campus, participation in demand response programs, and emergency power during grid outages. Five electric vehicles and smart charging stations are planned to be deployed to the campus this fall.
REFORMING THE ENERGY VISION (REV)
Building off last year's sold-out show, New York REV Future 2016 will bring together key stakeholders, technology providers, utilities and state policy makers to discuss actionable business strategies to operationalize the ongoing initiative for a clean, resilient and affordable energy system in New York. Directly following New York REV Future 2016 will be a half-day workshop on NY REV and The Role of Active Network Management. Join Smarter Grid Solutions on Wednesday, September 28 and receive Professional Development Hours credit!
