SYVP location news:
After doing yoga courses for two seasons at the Holistic Centre for Yoga & Vedanta, Amboli, Maharashtra, SYVP shifted its residential yoga courses to Varkala, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala last February.

The next season's activities from Nov 2012 to Mar 2013 will also be held in Varkala.

We are very happy to announce that the location for SYVP's own ashram has been decided & we are welcoming donations to help us begin building on this land. Please contact us for more information on how to help.

Yoga Teacher Training Course level 1 (YTTC-1)
SYVP conducted four YTTC-1 courses so far till Mar 2012, training about 75 yoga aspirants!

Small groups of students & dedicated staff members enables more individual attention to students. Peaceful ashram environments for yogic activities...etc made our intense YTTC-1 courses very successful.

For those interested we have 3 YTTC-1 courses coming up in the next season:

Yoga Teacher Training Course - level 1 ( YTTC-1) in Almora, Himalayas, India

Sept 29 to Oct 28, 2012. (This is the 2nd YTTC-1 to be held in Himalayas)

Yoga Teacher Training Course - level 1 (YTTC-1) in Varkala, Kerala, India

Nov 3 - Dec 2, 2012 Dec 8 - Jan 6, 2013

Tatwabodha camp:
It was our first ever attempt to study a vedanta scripture in detail - verse by verse - in SYVP. Tatwabodha is one of the preliminary text books on Vedanta. In the first Yoga Sadhana Camp of this year we had Tatwabodha study as our main event along with our regular hatha yoga classes and satsangs. The camp came out to be very successful, with some of the of the students even joining our next Yoga Teacher Training Course.

Such similar courses on scriptures and Sanskrit will be part of SYVP in coming years.

YTTC2 Jan 2012
Yoga Teacher Training Course - level 2 (YTTC-2):
Sivananda Yoga Vidya Peetham conducted its first ever 4 week long YTTC-level 2 in Amboli with 22 aspirants.

This course will be a regular yearly feature in coming years, with the next course January - February, 2013 (see below for details).

Apart from the regular main teachers - Swami Govindananda, Swami Tatwarupananda and Swami Nivedanananda; we were joined by Maheswara and Sakti Lahner from Germany also teaching the main topics of the course.

This course enables the graduates to register for Yoga alliance 500 hour accreditation - EYT 500.

Yoga Teacher Training Course - level II (YTTC-2) in Varkala, Kerala, India:

Jan 12 - Feb 10, 2013

The staff assistances in the kitchen by Sri Rajneesh Rana, Sri Manoj Rawat, Sri Parveen, Sri Rajkumar and Sri Piyush Banuni made all students and staff very happy throughout, by their cooking skills.
