2016 Next Gen header
Dear families,

We are blessed to worship in a resource-rich community. Gifts and accomplishments abound, and the ministries that take place each week to all generations require the ample skills of many. But THIS WEEK, I want to talk about Carol Wehrheim.

Carol has been a cornerstone of our church for 40+ years. She led Children's Ministry some years back and continued to lead and contribute in just about every area. Did you know she custom-crafts our Vacation Bible School curriculum each year (as well as tells the stories at VBS), writes the weekly Take Home Questions for Next Gen (read them!), leads a Parent's Bible Study on Wednesday afternoons, tells the Bible story regularly in worship, plus is Clerk of the Session? I could keep going but trust me when I say, her accomplishments are legion.

Carol has just co-edited a book of Bible stories for children. She will lead a Partnering with Parents class on Sunday, April 22. Because we think this book is so fabulous, our church has purchased a copy for each family in our church community. You are welcome to pick up your family's copy at the class or during coffee hour that day.

I am grateful for Carol's gifts and guidance in our church. We are blessed indeed.

In shared ministry,

Music Notes from Ingrid
Dear Families,

Over the past month, in all of our choirs, we have shared our thoughts about why we sing in church, and how singing makes us feel.  The responses have been overwhelming.

"We sing in church so God can be in our hearts."
"We sing in church because it makes us and other people feel happy. Also, it changes people."
"Singing makes me feel calm, at peace, and part of something bigger that I can never understand, but I go along and trust that it is good."

Be on the lookout for responses from all of our choirs on the Great Wall in April!

Upcoming Dates
  • Regular Wednesday rehearsals resume April 11.
  • Carol Choir and Choir 345 will sing on Sunday, May 6, at 9:15 AM with The Middle School Choir and Handbell Ensemble.
We have a role for you in our 2018 Chancel Drama!
Once Upon a Parable will feature exciting storytelling, singing, and staging for rising Grade 3 through High School this August 12-19. All are welcome!  If you'd like to audition for a singing or speaking role, please attend one of the audition dates listed in our brochure & online. Sign up  Here.

With Easter Joy,
