Super-sized flannel banners for the 3:00 PM Christmas Eve Service

Dear families,

It has been a wonderful two weeks of Advent celebrations (pictures below). From shepherds, sheep (plus a manger duck), multiple Mary(s) and Jesus-es (or is it Jes-i?) to rosemary wreathes and pipe-cleaner camels, our church has been filled with happy, noisy children and watchful, smiling parents.

Our goal through these events is to pass on the stories of our faith to the next generation, so that our children would find their place in the Nativity story. This story is at the foundation of our beliefs as Christians. But it not only gives shape to our past, it brings light to our future.

Let Zechariah's Advent prayer be our Advent prayer.

" God's Sunrise will break in upon us,
Shining on those in the darkness ,
Then showing us the way, one foot at a time,
    down the path of peace."
Luke 2:78,79 (The Message)

with Advent gratitude,

Music Notes from Ingrid
Dear Families,

Warm Advent Greetings! We certainly have reason to deck the halls, strike the harp and join the chorus! This weekend all of our choirs will be preparing and offering our beautiful Christmas Pageant.

We have something very personal to offer as we share our music in the telling of the story of Jesus birth. There will always be someone hearing this story for the first time - and we all have a part in this story to tell.

Dress Rehearsal is THIS Saturday, Dec. 16, 9 AM - 12 PM for everyone in Choir 345, Middle School Choir, and our costumed cast. Cast will meet for microphones and costumes in the Conference Room.  Choirs please meet in the Sanctuary - we'll practice instruments!

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 17, Schedule:
  • 2:30 PM - Choir 345 and Middle School Choir meet in the Sanctuary
  • 3:15 PM - Carol Choir and Joyful Noise join us in the Sanctuary to practice "I Saw Three Ships" and "Star Shine Bright." (Robes, wings, and sheep costumes will be in Niles chapel.)
  • 4:00 PM - Service begins!

With Joy,
