Easter Worship (Sanctuary)

It is Easter and we will shout "He is Risen!" But let's be honest, sometimes in life you don't have the energy, faith, and community to muster a word. What a blessing we can have them this  week. Soak it up.

As
Jennifer Finney Boylan  shows us, this stuff can last a lifetime:

The five of us - Link, John, Mark, Kenny and me - had met in seventh grade, in 1970. Now, as we face our 60th birthdays, we had come together again...What greater miracle could there be than friendships that last a lifetime? [ NY Times ]

There may be one greater miracle who holds us, our faith, our community, and friendships together. May Christ's conquering of Death & Despair nourish you this week, and your whole life through. " I hope that this is true."

So where should we meet in 50 years?

Recently, each of our choirs has considered why we sing in church, and how singing makes us feel.  The responses have been overwhelming.

"We sing in church because we are crying out to God and praising God with one voice, in unity."
"Singing makes me feel hopeful, and accepted."
"Singing makes me feel grounded and whole."
"Singing makes me feel calm and peaceful, no matter what may be going on in my busy and insane life."

Be on the lookout for responses from all of our choirs on the Great Wall in April!

March 30, Good Friday, 12 Noon service
