Well, the dog days of summer are certainly upon us. The week ahead is supposed to be quite warm, but at least there isn't much rain forecast and it cools off nicely at night. So be brave, keep a water bottle with you, and do some exploring! You can still catch the end of the Warren County Farmers' Fair and Hot Air Balloon Festival; check out the latest activities at a local winery; participate in National Night Out; enjoy live entertainment in an air conditioned theater as Centenary Stage Company winds down its Jamfest and Mary Poppins comes to Belvidere (just below); find out what's happening in the Warren County Library system... the list goes on. And if you just want to relax outdoors and don't have a pool in your back yard, you can always visit a nice lake, pool or water park. And remember: if you like this publication, share the joy by forwarding it to a friend. Happy Wanderings!

Every Saturday night, through October:
Come see the Evening Stars at UACNJ Observatory
The United Astronomy Clubs of NJ at the UACNJ Observatory runs a FREE outreach program for the public every Saturday night, April thru October, conducted from around 8-10pm.
If you have never seen the planets through a telescope you are truly missing one of the world's best views, but planets aren't the only objects visible; one can see star clusters, double stars, galaxies, nebula and other deep sky objects.
Many deep sky objects like Andromeda and the Milky Way are clearly visible at Jenny Jump by eye or through binoculars. So if you have a pair, bring them.
These outreach nights are not only a learning experience but they are a fun family outing opportunity. In addition to public viewing, there is also a talk starting around 8pm on various astronomy topics.
Please check UACNJ.org for a list of topics to be presented, directions, and for any additional information.
Children are encouraged to come with Adult supervision. Because Astronomy isn't only for kids, IT'S FUN FOR ALL AGES.
Located on Far View Road in Jenny Jump State Forest, Hope, NJ.
