The Department of Virginia delegation is preparing for our trip to the 99th National Convention in Reno, Nevada.

Our National Commander Charles E. Schmidt has focused this year on raising funds for both Temporary Financial Assistance and Service Officer Training.

I would like to ask all Legionnaires, Post and District Leadership to send their donation checks to the National Commander's selected charities this year to Department Headquarters to arrive by the 14th of August. Checks should be made payable to "The Department of Virginia". In the memo field please indicate either "Temporary Financial Assistance", "Service Officer Training" or "Both Natl Cmdr Charities".

After the National Commander's report to the convention on Tuesday afternoon, August 22nd, he will be accepting donation checks from Departments. Your donation will be presented at that time.
