In this issue: submit new data now; NCED completeness report; PAD-US news

Greetings NCED users and data providers!
Gather your easements! We are now collecting data from all easement holders in anticipation of our July 2017 release. Please submit publicly held easements to The Trust for Public Land and privately held easements to Ducks Unlimited. Submit easements by May 12.

As a reminder: our team can work with you to edit or improve your data for NCED. We can help collect easement shapefiles, or can digitize your easements from paper maps. Get in touch!

In the meantime, read more NCED-related news below.

Sincerely,
The NCED team
NCED Completeness Report

We now estimate that the NCED contains 51% of conservation easements held by public agencies and departments across the U.S., and 74% of easements held by nonprofits.

These estimates are based on results of a 2016 survey of public agencies and departments conducted by the Trust for Public Land, and on updated easement counts from the 2015 National Land Trust Census.
Storymap: America's Protected Lands

Esri has published an interactive storymap that describes and visualizes the full scope of protected lands across the United States.

NCED is highlighted as a collector and contributor of conservation easement lands to PAD-US.

NCED Partners Join PAD-US NGO WorkGroup

Assembled in early 2017, the PAD-US NGO WorkGroup provides coordination and information sharing among nonprofits engaged in PAD-US through land conservation and data collection and dissemination. Goals include improving data quality, interoperability, and completeness; increasing the number of nonprofits using PAD-US; and continuing outreach activities.

Ducks Unlimited and The Trust for Public Land have joined the WorkGroup to represent NCED.
