Member Contest

SIGCSE 2018 / CS For All 
Don’t miss the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) Special Interest Group Computer Science Education (SIGCSE) Technical Symposium, the largest computing education conference in the world. It attracts around 1,300 researchers, educators and many others interested in improving computer education in kindergarten through grade 12 as well as higher education. Creative minds get ready. The Innovations in Cybersecurity Education awards and recognition program is open and ready for entries. Categories include curriculum, faculty development, lab activity, local partnership, and student learning aid. Winners will be announced at the Community College Cyber Summit in August.

IT Apprenticeship Webinar
Learn about being an apprentice through a new webinar on "Solving the Software Development Pipeline Crisis, Using Apprenticeships to Develop IT Talent," on Tuesday, Feb. 13, 10 a.m. (EST). This hour-long webinar will feature two executives who have implemented innovative apprenticeships in IT coding and cybersecurity. Heather Terenzio, CEO of Techtonic Group and Tectonic Academy, and Girish Seshagiri, executive vice president and chief technology officer at ISHPI, are presenting.

Jumpstart Teaching Cybersecurity
Catalyzing Computing and Cybersecurity in Community Colleges (C5) is hosting a day-long workshop on Feb. 21 preceding SIGCSE titled “Jumpstart Teaching Cybersecurity: C5 Instructional Modules Secure Scripting and Cybersecurity and Society.” Faculty will benefit from learning about instructional modules to use in their classroom to help expand the integration of cybersecurity into computing programs.
