CAE Designation
The National Security Agency/Department of Homeland Security Centers of Academic Excellence (CAE) designation application process consists of two components: mapping program curriculum to Knowledge Units (KUs) and providing evidence that the institution satisfies a set of criteria qualifying it to be considered academically excellent. This document addresses only the mapping component. The mapping process involves matching the instructional and experiential components of college level courses to the required KUs.

Ground-Breaking Automotive Cybersecurity Course Program
National CyberWatch member Walsh College is continuing to combine Automotive Technology and Cybersecurity by launching an academic concentration in Automotive Cybersecurity to accompany its Bachelor of Science in IT. Walsh College is expanding on its innovative Fundamentals of Automotive Cybersecurity course, the first of its kind nationally when it debuted in spring 2017.

Cybersecurity Core Curriculum
In the fall of 2016, the first project of the National CyberWatch Center Curriculum Standards Panel was launched, a.k.a. the Cybersecurity Core Curriculum Mapping Project. This project involved eight online working sessions with synchronous and asynchronous activities involving over 100 
faculty, industry professionals and government representatives completing various tasks to determine the requirements to successfully complete five National CyberWatch Center courses.

Call for Presentations
The Federal Information Systems Security Educators’ Association is looking for presentations for its upcoming conference, March 14-15, in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Participants are encouraged to share expertise that relate to the theme--Hardening the Human: The Power of Cybersecurity Awareness and Training. Submissions should address all aspects of information security with a focus on the awareness and training aspect. The deadline is Jan. 16.
