Creating and Sustaining a Culture of Cybersecurity
Learn how the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education Framework and the Cybersecurity Risk Management Framework can be used in tandem to help organizations develop and sustain a holistic enterprise-wide cyber infrastructure hardening strategy. Presenter Terrance Campbell, an experienced informatics and information systems security practitioner-scholar, will lead the interactive 45-minute discussion on Wednesday, July 11 at 1 p.m., EDT, and on Friday, July 13 at 2 p.m., EDT.

Register Now for the Community College Cyber Summit
Registration for the 2018 Community College Cyber Summit (3CS) is in full swing. Taking place at Mt. Hood Community College in Oregon, this will mark the fifth annual event. The regular registration fee is $220 through July 28 before it jumps to $270. Student registration is also open for the Pre-Summit Job Fair on Aug. 2. Hotel space is also still available at the Marriott Portland Downtown Waterfront.

Enter Pilot Program 
The Information Security Fundamentals Readiness Assessment Pilot program makes available a concept inventory formative assessment that determines readiness to enroll in an Information Security Fundamentals/Security+-type course. The assessment is anonymous but provides institutional encoding of respondent IDs to permit individual reporting without divulging the identity of the participant to the National CyberWatch Center. Any faculty member or corporate trainer may register to participate in the pilot.

Workforce Management Guidebook
The Workforce Management Guidebook is now available online for public comment. The National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) Working Group members want input from a broad range of functional roles and sectors outside of NICE to ensure they provide understandable and easily implemented guidelines based on business functions and to contribute positively to the organization’s security.

Faculty Position Open at Washtenaw Community College
Washtenaw Community College is looking to hire a full-time CIS cybersecurity instructor. This position will teach Introduction to Network Security, Essentials of Penetration Testing, CCNA Security, and other courses within the Computer Information Systems Department as well as maintain and teach Intro to Cryptography.

Blue Ridge Community College Earns Grant
National CyberWatch member, Blue Ridge Community College, received a $200,000 grant to implement a new cybersecurity workforce development program focused on bringing more cybersecurity jobs to the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia within the next two years.

National Conference this Month  
HI-TEC is a national conference on advanced technological education where secondary and postsecondary educators, counselors, industry professionals, trade organizations, and technicians can update their knowledge and skills. Charged with educating America’s technical workforce, the event focuses on the preparation needed by existing and future workforce for companies in the high-tech sectors that drive the nation’s economy. The event takes place July 23 to 26 in Miami, Florida.

Testimonials Needed for Cyber Workforce Consortium
The Cyber Institute formed the Cyber Workforce Consortium comprised of not-for-profit and professional organizations to provide a collective voice for employers, academia and government collaboration on cyber workforce issues. The consortium is seeking testimonials and comments through membership-based organizations from industry and academia who serve job seekers having difficulties and successes related to the cyber workforce.
Testimonials/comments will be used in a white paper/information paper for Senator Bennet of Colorado to take to Capitol Hill. Your company and/or academic institution will be recognized as participants on this paper by the Senator's Office.
