"Our campout is the perfect opportunity for local families to have a weekend get-a-way without the hassle of having to travel far away," said Yvonne Falgout, Center Programs Manager. "It's a really fun and inexpensive way to enjoy the great outdoors."

The annual camping event also includes a Tent Decorating contest and awards will be given to the most creatively decorated tents. Tent set-up starts at 4pm on Friday and all tents must be decorated on-site. Additionally, decorations and themes must be family oriented.

Once the tents have been set-up, participants will enjoy a hot dog dinner. Following dinner, the trick-or-treating activity will take place and kids are encouraged to wear costumes and bring candy sacks. Each tent will need to have pre-packaged treats that can be given out.

The evening will conclude with live entertainment and an announcement of the Tent Decorating Contest winners. On Saturday morning breakfast will be served beginning at 7:30am and tents will need to be taken down by 8am.

Tree Planting
The Parks and Recreation Department is asking the Arlington community for their assistance in recruiting over 300 volunteers needed to re-plant damaged and lost trees across the tornado impact zone. Volunteers for the event will meet at Martin High School where they will be given their assigned areas and paired with city staff to drive to the affected locations and plant the trees. Once all the trees have been planted, volunteers are invited to return to the school for a tailgating party with complimentary hot dogs and soda from noon to 2 p.m.

Taste of Germany
Taste of Germany
The Taste of Germany menu will be offered from 5-9pm, October 27. Guests will have several appetizers and main entrees to choose from. A special selection of beer and wine will also be available.

"Fall is the perfect time to enjoy Germany's warm and hearty dishes," said Luigi Cinelli, Executive Chef. "Our menu for this event is full of robust flavors and German influence."

Taste of Germany is part of the Ticket to Travel series that highlights a specific cuisine each month. The cuisine is based on a geographical region such as France, Mexico, Hawaii or the Caribbean. In November the cuisine will feature specialties from Florida.

"The Ticket to Travel events have been extremely popular so guests are encouraged to make reservations in advance," said Cinelli. "The menu is only offered for one night and we always have a large crowd."
