Evensky & Katz Foldes Fund donates backpacks 

The Evensky & Katz Foldes Fund teamed up with City Year Miami to distribute backpacks to students at St. Alban's Child Enrichment Center and The Barnyard.

On Friday, November 7, 2014, the Evensky & Katz Foldes Fund teamed up with City Year Miami to distribute backpacks filled with school supplies to students at St. Alban's Child Enrichment Center and The Barnyard in Coconut Grove. The Coral Gables Community Foundation manages the Evensky & Katz Foldes Fund, a philanthropic fund created by Evensky & Katz Foldes Principal, David Evensky. 

 

Since its inception in 2006, the Evensky & Katz Foldes Fund, which is funded by the firm, has disbursed nearly $300,000 to a number of causes and organizations such as the Baptist Children's Hospital Foundation, Mount Sinai Medical Center Foundation and the Miami Children's Hospital Foundation.

2014 Community Grant Recipients


 

The Coral Gables Community Foundation recently awarded grants to seven local non-profit organizations, bringing our annual community giving through grants to $50,000! The Foundation is proud to contribute to and support the following organizations. Learn more about the many ways each organization contributes to our community.
   

Thank you to the Foundation's Community Giving Committee and its Chair, John O'Rourke III, for reviewing a large number of worthy applicants and ultimately choosing the seven organizations that best fit our focus and goals at this time.

RECENT EVENTS

Foundation sponsors annual Coral Gables Senior High College Fair

The Coral Gables Community Foundation served as the Presenting Sponsor of the Coral Gables Senior High School College Fair for the third consecutive year. The College Fair took place on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 in the school gymnasium and featured visits from 74 schools from all over the country. Students were able to discuss college options with school representatives and acquire materials about the many different institutions in attendance. The College Fair was organized by the Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) Chair Beth Lawhorn, who considered this year's fair to be the most successful one yet, due to student attendance and high praise of the Gables High student body from college representatives. 

Ponce Society of Young Professionals have a spooktacular Halloween


The Ponce Society of Young Professionals (PSYP) hosted their annual Halloween Party at Fritz & Franz Bierhaus on October 31, 2014. The party featured a costume contest with great disguises and live music all night long.
