Information Governance: Out With the Old - When Can You Lift a Litigation Hold and How Can You Dispose of Data Defensibly?   
The problem of data management is often exacerbated by an inability or unwillingness to dispose of non-records and formal records that are no longer needed, or to lift a litigation hold. We will analyze: (a) how to build out an effective information governance program that allows for the defensible disposition of data, including the use of sampling techniques; (b) how to convince organizational stakeholders-including the Legal Department- that you can defensibly dispose of data, and that it is not necessary to save everything; and (c) how and when to lift a litigation hold, including the steps that are necessary and how to properly message that a hold is being lifted. Take This Course
