Failure to Launch isn't just a movie starring Matthew McConaughey. It's a real-life scenario featuring millions of young Americans, new Census data tells us. Saddled with massive student loans and the high costs of living, more Millennials are living at home than ever before. In fact, the agency says, "There are now more young people [aged 18-34] living at home than in any other arrangement." What's more, the study goes on, "almost nine in 10 young people who were living in their parents' home a year ago are still living there today, making it the most stable living arrangement." Four Lies Porn Uses to Keep You in Bondage

"I have found that recognizing some of the many lies porn tries to sell me has grown in my heart a deep distaste for it - mostly because I've come to recognize how much porn detests me," said author and speaker Michael Johnson in a recent article by Covenant Eyes.    Here are four of Johnson's 21 lies that pornography uses to keep individuals in bondage:
  • Porn says, "Let me take your mind off all of that," as it takes over your mind.
  • Porn says, "I think we're alone now." But by "we" it means just you.
  • Porn says, "Give yourself a break," as it breaks you.
  • Porn says, "Just live in the moment," but afterward you're deleting your history and then desiring your next hit.
Johnson encourages readers, "Don't be fooled by porn. It's lying to you... as you can see there is a method to its madness. Which means you need a method to your sanity."    Click HERE to read the full article and discover how you can live a life of freedom and integrity.  Posted on Abstinence Clearinghouse

How to Get Your Kids to Obey Right Away

I have to admit I have been the king of repeating instructions to my kids. There was a time where I rarely gave them one instruction. Not to make light of anyone who stutters, but you’d almost think I had a stuttering problem. “Go get your shoes on…go get your shoes on.” It’s like I’m saying repeatedly, “Obey your parents” to deaf ears. Just Give Your Son the Roadmap to Manhood

5 Essentials for Raising a Teenage Boy by Mike McCormick

Coming-of-age stories are some of the oldest and most beloved tales in human history—from ancient mythologies to classical literature to Hollywood blockbusters. Most of them tell of a young man’s journey to manhood and how a guru comes alongside him and shows him a new way. The story pattern is always the same and never grows old: the young man resists his initial training from his master, he struggles to find his inner resolve, and then ventures out to put his new-found strength to the test. Anti-Teen Suicide Campaign: 13 Reasons Why Not
The Netflix original series 13 Reasons Why has contributed to nationwide debates as many individuals have voiced concern over whether the show promotes teen suicide.    When the Academic Dean of Oxford High School, Pam Fine, discovered the show was working on a second season, she proposed the Michigan school release a counter campaign called 13 Reasons Why Not.   According to Assistant Superintendent Denise Sweat, the program is meant to address the issues of bullying and suicide in the school district, which is still coping with the loss of student Megan Abbott who committed suicide in 2013 just weeks before the end of the school year.   The 13 Reasons Why Not campaign, created by Oxford High School staffers and the Bully Buster leadership class, began May 1. Within the first week, according to an article by ABC, 1,800 students heard stories about body shaming, poverty, being told to kill themselves, feeling unwanted, trouble at home and more.    Click HERE to read more about the 13 Reasons Why Not campaign.
Respect Life
The Patients Rights Action Fund (PRAF) has released a new video "Physician Assisted Suicide: The Real Effects." Featuring Dr. Brian Callister of Nevada, it addresses one of the most compelling dangers of legalizing assisted suicide - the denial of life-extending/-saving care & the concurrent "offer" to cover the cost of lethal drugs for suicide. His experience is disturbing--and should be made known far & wide.

Over-the-Counter A team of pediatric, adolescent and women’s health experts believes that regulatory, behavioral and scientific evidence supports switching oral contraceptives from prescription-only status to over-the-counter (OTC) availability.

“Decades of research show that a majority of adolescents initiate sex before the age of 18 and that earlier use of contraception reduces the risk of teen pregnancy. Our review strongly suggests that giving teens easier access to various contraceptives will not lead to more sex but would result in fewer unwanted pregnancies,” says Krishna Upadhya, M.D., M.P.H., assistant professor of pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and the paper’s lead author.

The study, published March 14 in the Journal of Adolescent Healthy, fails to address the high probability that young adults just beginning puberty would have access to contraceptives without being provided information about the consequences of the drug by a physician. Likewise, it would do a large disservice to youth and parents acting as the primary educators of their children. Furthermore, easy access to synthetic hormones will not solve teen pregnancy it will simply serve to cover the overarching issue of unintended pregnancy.
