FREE Heart Screening -
June 4, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM - Bon Secours Mary Immaculate Hospital in Newport News is offering a free heart screening on June 4. The screening checks heart health, blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose and more. Lifestyle coaching is also offered. The assessments will be held from 9 a.m. to noon June 4 at the hospital's Health Resource Center, 2 Bernadine Drive in Newport News. To register, call 889-CARE(2273) or click here.
World Pet Memorial Day -
June 12,
2:00 PM - 3:00 PM - Mary Immaculate Hospital Exercise Trail (between Mary Immaculate Hospital and St. Francis Nursing Center). Participants are invited to come and share a memorable time about a pet or pets. Please bring a photo of your beloved pet (s) to be displayed during the memorial. Information will be distributed about an on-going monthly PET LOSS SUPPORT GROUP to be held at the BSHR "Hope and Healing" Bereavement Center. This group will begin in August, 2016. NONPROFIT BOARD TRAINING
NetworkPeninsula is now offering Board Training for full Boards at a time. Trainings are tailored to meet the individual organization's needs and range from 1.5 to 6 hours. Trainings address common issues faced by nonprofit Boards and also hone in on issues that are organization specific. Trainings are designed to develop strong Boards that can collectively move their nonprofit forward and work toward long-term sustainability. For details, click here.

The American Association on Health & Disability Scholarship Program supports students with disabilities pursuing higher education. Preference is given to students who plan to pursue undergraduate/graduate studies in the field of public health, health promotion, and disability studies (including disability policy and disability research).
