Introducing some of our most-trusted and best outdoor (and other) business resources!
Greetings!

We want to take this opportunity to introduce you to a few of our friends whose resources we use and recommend!    We do have an extensive list of resources on our website but we will be introducing one of them in-depth in every newsletter.

We'll start this new tradition off with a bang and introduce you to several of our trusted and most-used sources.

Happy fall and remember to get outside!
Without further ado, we present our featured friends and resources!

Switchback Gear Exchange

If you live in the west Michigan area, give our friends at Switchback Gear Exchange a visit.  You can buy or sell your used gear with them- cash up front or in-store credit, not consignment!  We've been pleased with what they offer!  Here is what their website says:  " We provide a well-organized retail shop specializing in high quality and affordable outdoor recreation equipment. We also offer exemplary customer services, education, and insight related to outdoor recreation products and activities."

FORTUNE BAY EXPEDITION TEAM
We Go Farther!

We are a wilderness exploration group and educational institution, for all ages, regardless of skill level or ability.

Expedition activities include hiking, paddling, mountain biking, sailing, overland, bushwacking, rock & ice climbing, exploration and research. Most expeditions require a multi-disciplinary approach to the outdoors.

The majority of our activities take place in the Great Lakes/Arctic watersheds and north Atlantic coast to include Michigan, the surrounding states and Canada. Members are as far away as Guam, Great Britain and Grenada, but most are from the Great Lakes Region.

We hold outdoor classes in a variety of outdoor skills. The curriculum includes a wide array of land navigation skills, technical rope rescue, rock climbing, ice climbing, outdoor skills, water rescue, kayaking/canoeing, preparedness, survival/improvisation, overland travel, search and rescue skills training and outdoor leadership.

OOAKAG highly recommends Fortune Bay's classes and expeditions.  We are proud to be one of Fortune Bay's Endorsed Service Providers!

Moosejaw has hit Grand Rapids!   Our new pop-up shop will help you make your next adventure great by offering some of the coolest gear and apparel from brands like Arc'teryx, The North Face, Patagonia, Canada Goose, Black Diamond, Merrell, and so many others.

On one half of the store, shoppers will have access to Moosejaw’s High Altitude Lounge where they can play games or take a break.

Store Manager Chris Hagist said the store will offer items for those who love outdoor activities as well as the urban commuter.

“[If] you’re just cruising around town for a nice Saturday shopping [in] downtown Grand Rapids [and] taking it all in, you’re still going to have stuff that’s stylish, but also will perform and be lightweight to wear,” Hagist said.
