Kingston Boat Store

Our Kingston Marine Services (KMS) team has a wide range of equipment and resources at their disposal, and with the experience of many years spent on the water, we are often called upon to deal with the jobs that no one else can.

The Multi-Cat barge Seaclear is our main platform for the ordinary and extraordinary at KMS, and with a 30 tm crane with 12m reach and a 26 tonne deck cargo capacity she makes the perfect platform and base for everything from divers' equipment to 300 metres of ship's anchor chain.

Seaclear can also be loaded with a man-up cage, pressure washer and compressor, welding equipment and oxy-acetylene burning gear, and she is available anywhere in the Solent at short notice.

As a back up, and very much useful in her own right, certified for 2 tonnes of deck cargo and 12 passengers we have Seamark, harbour launch and tug, an 8m Cheverton launch and of course, access to the Cowes Harbour Commission launches and RIBS.

Most of all though, for special projects, Kingston Marine Services relies on the afloat team who between them have something over 50 years' experience on the River Medina and the Solent and they are able to tackle whatever comes through the door, however 'extraordinary'.

Winter storage options at Kingston

Kingston Marine Services works closely alongside Shepards Wharf Marina, Cowes Harbour Moorings, and Cowes Harbour Fuels, operated by harbour authority and marine services provider Cowes Harbour Commission.

1st Class Covers 1st Class Covers, who specialise in marine, automotive, domestic and commercial upholstery and cover work, have recently moved in to Unit 8 in the main workshop at Kingston Marine Services.

Owner Billy White started out as a young apprentice on the Isle of Wight, progressing to sailmaking at 18 years old, and has worked from a number of bases along the south coast, but has always found Cowes and East Cowes the best place for his preferred type of work - cover making and upholstery.

Five years ago Billy started his own family run business from home, working to build a reputation and client base. The business has grown rapidly over the last couple of years and so the move to a dedicated workshop at Kingston Wharf a few months ago made perfect sense.
