Cool nights are bringing new Fall veggies to our market: bok choy, braising greens, dandelion shoots, collard greens, and turnips - white, purple-topped, scarlet and Japanese. Warm days mean you'll still find melons, cucumbers, basil and mint, eggplant, okra, sweet potato greens, summer squashes, a rainbow of sweet and hot peppers, and more summer favorites. There's also amaranth, arugula, red and golden beets, red and Yukon gold potatoes, sweet potatoes, spinach, butternut squash, daikon radishes - all grown in the Central Texas area.

Taco Brothers is one of our newest vendors, bringing delicious grilled pork, steak asada and chicken fajita tacos, served hot from their food truck. There's also a mean cheeseburger on their menu!  Come see what's new at market each week, as we continue to grow.

Hays County Master Gardeners have returned to market with advice on how to grow the best fall garden this year. Bring your thorniest gardening problems and reap the benefit of their extensive training and experience. You'll also find copies of their "Seeds to Table" cookbook - full of recipes and advice on cooking and preserving the bounty of vegetables you'll harvest from your own garden - or buy from local farmers and gardeners here.

Alex Dormont's music graces our market this week, accompanied by the mellifluous voice of sidekick and quipster Beryl Armstrong. Together, the two keep the crowd at the picnic tables and rocking chairs singing, laughing and tapping their feet to music ranging from Buddy Holly to trail drive classics, with the added delight of Beryl on his mouth trombone.
