E-Notes from Water's Edge
is a non-traditional service at First United Methodist Church in Mission Valley, San Diego. We meet in the "Cove" (directions) every Sunday, 9:30 AM under the leadership of Dr. Elbert Kim and the live Water's Edge band, led by Chris Durrand.

Water
New directions and grace

What do "Wreck it Ralph" and the story of Levi (Luke 5:27-32) have in common? Both describe a "bad guy" who wants to turn his life around. Both meet resistance to their desire to change from people who doubt they could ever be different.

When we want to make big changes in our lives, when we want to start heading in a new and better direction, we need grace. Grace shows up all over Levi's story, and in our own stories as well.

Please join the Water's Edge community on Sunday as we think together about the call Jesus gives us to follow him, the company we keep, and spiritual health.

I'm looking forward to praising God with you on Sunday!
Blessings,
Rev. Jessica Strysko

W.E. can
This Sunday we are collecting: hot dogs, hot dog buns, and canned baked beans, for our 4th of July food drive.

One of the goals for the Water's Edge Congregation this year is to support our First Church Food Ministry: Loaves and Fishes.

Besides canned food items, milk, eggs, and bread are always welcome. You may leave your donations in The Cove, or in Linder Hall.

Get to know Elbert
and let him get to know you!

Come and have a cup of coffee with Elbert! Join him at Starbucks across from the Mission Valley mall on 1620 Camino de la Reina every Wednesday in July, 10 - 11:30 AM.
Directions...

If these hours don't fit your schedule, you may set up a one-on-one meeting at another time. Look for the sign-up sheet at Water's Edge on Sunday or send an email to Elbert.

WE love our kids in the Cove...
There's been a lot of children in the worship at Water's Edge this summer. Soon many of them will start Vacation Bible School, starting July 22. Find out more and how to sign up online.

Our service is low-key, non-traditional with weekly communion, open to everyone.
The band plays original Christian and traditional praise music. And it's ok to applaud.
